Family Fun Night at Chuck E. Cheese
Chuck E. Cheese reached out to me and asked if I wanted to go check out their newly remodeled location in Saginaw, MI and you better believe I didn’t have to think twice about that one! I grew up going to Chuck E. Cheese for birthday parties and I remember BEGGING my parents to let me go back just one.more.time. My 5 year old self would day dream about pepperoni pizza, dancing with ol’ Chuck on the dance floor and playing skee-ball until I had nothing left. :)
Several locations, including the Saginaw one here in Michigan have been completely remodeled, top to bottom. You’ll notice a more modern look throughout, even on the outside of the building. They did a good job keeping everything very kid-friendly and attractive to kids while still appealing to us parents.
We decided to surprise the kids so we picked them up from school and yelled “We’re going to Chuck E. Cheese”! We let the kids know we would be playing there as a family and that they could order whatever they wanted from the newly updated dinner menu. You should have seen their sweet faces, they were so excited! I mean, a pretty epic Tuesday night if I say so myself. ;)
First we ordered dinner when we got there. And mama’s, they don’t just have pizza anymore! They’ve completely re-vamped their kitchen and restaurant area so they now have options like a fully-stocked unlimited salad bar, gluten free cauliflower pizza crust (genuis!), chicken nuggets, veggies and hot sub sandwiches. The kids all ordered their own personal size pizza and Jason and I both went for the salad bar and went back a couple times. I was impressed with the freshness and healthy choices I could put on my salad. I went with spinach and romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, tomatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms, carrots, cheese, sunflower seeds and some dressing. It was perfect for dinner!
Next we got the kids their All You Can Play passes. These make the coins of our childhood and thing of the past and really step up your play time! These are so easy to use: they come pre-loaded with whatever time you would like your kids to play. For our visit, we loaded an hour of playtime unto all our passes. They look like gift cards and you just put them up to the games you want to play and it allows you instant access to whatever game you want to play. You can also pause the play if you need to stop to eat or for a break and then resume your play time at a kiosk. We didn’t break once because, well, Jason and I are slightly competitive first-born’s. HA! The security cameras can testify to the insanity that was Jason and I playing every game so intensely trying to get as many tickets humanly possible (oh, and spending quality time with our kids, too. ;) )
I was really impressed with the variety of games they had for different ages. Jason and I were fully engaged the whole time (clearly!) but I was most thankful that there was enough to keep the pre-teen age like Landon dialed in and having fun while still giving Aiden’s age range (6) plenty of age-appropriate, fun games to play.
Despite the picture above, we all had the BEST night (Aiden was upset that Mama was winning in this game - such is life being raised by me, little buddy!). It was such a good stress reliever: quality time together, laughing, being well-fed and just having so much fun together. Even though this blog post is sponsored, I sincerely recommend you taking a night to go your nearest Chuck E. Cheese and have a fun family night. You can plan your trip and get more details on the Chuck E. Cheese website here: www.chuckecheese.com.
We’ll definitely be doing it again soon!

Laura
